Our  Enduring Love.

 

I love you now as ever I Loved  before

Since first I saw you  that  night- that night  in '54

You then  came  with  me and fulfilled my dream

 My Dear Wife, I love you  as I loved you then

When your were so sweet, sweet sixteen

 

They tried to tell us we were Too Young

Too Young to really be in love

Love -A word we had only heard

could not know the meaning of

 

But they were wrong for they could not know

That Love to us was not a word -  but feelings

deep inside that would bloom and grow

 

And  today with  fifty years so  quickly past

 we shout to all  that our Love did bloom 

 and that bloom did last ---and blossoms still.

 

Our road has been long-

rocky and steep, with ruts cut deep, from  pain and tears

and yet with beauty, joy and laughter too

and always our Love, above all else, to see us through.

 

What higher tribute can one give

than to cast their lot, their life, and dreams

to the trust of another. For Better or worse

Through Sickness and Health, till Death and beyond forever.

 

We did that freely and completely with our young Love

Gave our lives in the trust of each other

So Today I thank you deeply- that you did this for me

You have made feel honored, humbled, and   blessed from above

 

For you have brought beauty into my life,

with your many talents, your tireless work,

your warmth and tenderness, caring and love

to make our home wherever it was

a special place with your unique and lovely touch.

 

If I could erase all the sorrow and pain

and replace it with only the wonder and joy,

I would gladly take it from the top once more

And live it with you all over again.

 

My Darling please  know for what lies ahead ,

I will always be there for you and with you

with my love and devotion ever renewed and true
